Release notes
From version 1.0.1 on, Tornado checks for a new version when it starts and shows a Download button when one is out. On an older copy, download the latest version and run the installer over it: your license key and your report chain stay as they are.
1.0.2
- Standards lists keep names with spaces. In Non-standard layers and Standards: styles, separate names with commas or new lines. A name such as
bul-108 linenow counts as one layer, not two. If a saved list separated names with spaces only, add commas. - Recipes ask first. Deleting a recipe, saving over a different recipe with the same name, and starting a new empty chain with unsaved changes now ask before they go ahead.
- No freeze when a scan starts. The window stays responsive while Tornado finds the drawings in a large folder or on a network share.
1.0.1
- Check for updates. Tornado checks for a new version when it starts, at most once a day (turn it off in the gear menu under Updates), and the gear menu has a Check for updates button. When a new version is out, a banner under the title bar offers a Download button.
1.0.0
- Block quantity counts correctly (it read 0 before), and dynamic blocks count under their real names.
- Long and formatted MTEXT is read whole, and big drawings no longer show later layers or blocks as 0.
- Xrefs on
\\serverpaths count as absolute paths. - Every drawing is opened read-only, so a scan never locks or changes a file.
- Scans work under Windows user names with accents.
- If AutoCAD hangs, it closes with Tornado instead of keeping a drawing locked.
- F5 runs the scan.
- Report a sysvar compares numbers as numbers and ignores case in names.
- Drawing Explorer: one click turns a drawing's layers or styles into your standard list, and on the Drawing tab the + next to a setting adds a check that flags drawings whose value differs from this one.
- The free 30-day license for feedback is now the Tester program.
0.2.0
- All 80 checks work, including AUDIT error totals, circular xrefs, password-protected and signed drawings, fields and hyperlinks.
- Drawing compare: scan a folder against a baseline folder and see what changed in each same-named drawing.
- Rows your way: one row per drawing, or one row per layer, per xref or per item.
- The full Drawing Explorer: open one drawing and see six views (blocks with every instance and its attribute values, layers, xrefs and files, layouts and viewports, styles, and drawing settings). Export any view to CSV, and click + to turn what you find into a check.
0.1
- The first public releases (0.1.3 to 0.1.13): the report chain builder with recipes, Excel and CSV export, the free trial (10 drawings per run), license keys, sliders and dials on the checks, the first Drawing Explorer (blocks and attributes), and AutoCAD crash dialogs kept out of the way during scans.
