Getting started with Tornado
A quick tour of the workflow. Video walkthroughs are on the way; in the meantime these steps get you from install to a finished report.
1. First run
Install and open Tornado. On first launch it runs a one-time capability probe against your AutoCAD install so it knows which checks it can run. Checks your version cannot do are shown greyed out with the reason.
2. Build a report chain
From the module palette on the left, drag the checks you want into the report chain. Each check sits on its own card where you set its options, for example the expected units or a warning threshold. Save the chain as a recipe to reuse it on the next project.
3. Point it at your drawings
Choose a folder (or several), turn recursive on to include subfolders, or import a Hurricane file list. Press Run. Tornado scans in parallel and fills the results grid as it goes.
4. Enforce a standard
Open a check that supports an expected value, such as units or LTSCALE, and type your office standard. Now the report is a pass or fail: every drawing that differs is flagged. Add flag rules to colour any column amber or red on your own conditions, then switch the grid to Flagged to see only the offenders.
5. Act on the results
Click a row to open or reveal the drawing, or view its preview. Export the current view to Excel (the flag colours come with it), CSV, or JSON for a submittal or QA record.
6. The Hurricane loop
Filter to the problem drawings and export a file list. Load it into Hurricane's Queue to batch-fix them, then re-run Tornado on the same list to confirm the fixes cleared. Tornado finds Hurricane's list folder automatically.
